Smoke signals

Fire is on my mind lately: visions of me waking up wreathed in smoke and flames or more likely, me going to bed and not waking up — ever.

Bad weather bothering you? Not me…

You’d think after living in central Indiana my entire life I’d be used to our weather. But it never fails to surprise me with tornadoes, thunderstorms, destroyed power lines and overflowing basements.

As Kristy indicated, Indianapolis has recently experienced some bad weather. Last weekend, I came home to knee-high sewage that had backed up into my basement. Continue reading ‘Bad weather bothering you? Not me…’


Living without electricity

Friday night (May 30) Indianapolis was hit by a tornado. Luckily our Angie’s List offices are still standing, but 430 people were left without homes in the city. I’ll consider myself lucky since less than 20 blocks away from my house the wind tore off roofs from homes and businesses. Continue reading ‘Living without electricity’
