I never have enough time to do everything I’d like to accomplish. You know how that goes. The best part of working at Angie’s List is that I can achieve some of my bigger life goals while at work. The perks of the job are above and beyond what most any company offers.
I’ve been meaning to get back in shape for a while — a real long while. This February, my co-worker Liz and I decided it was time. So, we started hitting the Angie’s List gym on campus three to five times a week during our lunch hour and now take aerobics and kickboxing classes at Angie’s List. We even have access to a free personal trainer.
Having been a crime reporter in the past, I understand how important it is for a woman to be able to defend herself against the crazies. So, when Angie’s List recently offered self-defense classes, Liz and I signed up. A few classes later, we received a certificate in survival assault and an arsenal of moves to take down any bad guys.
CPR classes were another thing on the ultimate to-do list. Yep, Angie’s List offers those for free, too.
I’ve always wanted to devote time to volunteering, but never seemed to have the time or energy after a full day of work. I recently signed up through Angie’s List to tutor fourth and fifth graders who need help reading. I’ll go once a week during my lunch hour, starting in October.
While work is the reason I have little free time, my employer makes it possible to get so much done while I’m at the office. I get to help myself and help others, making it one of the most fulfilling jobs I’ve had or ever will have. It doesn’t surprise me that Angie’s List made the list of Best Places to Work in Indiana two years in a row.
