I can’t say for sure that this is true, as I’ve never been to New York City. But that will soon change — I’m leaving tomorrow for a long weekend in The Big Apple.
I’m not sure what I’m most excited about — visiting a city I’ve heard and read all about but only seen on TV, catching up with my old friends also going on the trip, or just having a few days to get away from the real world and enjoy a vacation.
My only concern is how we’ll find time to do everything on our list in only four short days. There’s so much to do and so little time. The tourist websites are overwhelming. Every online search for one tourist attraction leads me to a list of five more things I hadn’t even thought of. Every time I talk to another friend going on the trip, they have more ideas.
This makes me think I probably should have checked Angie’s List for a travel agent. I guess I’ll have to rely on my other friends — who have either been there before or currently live there — to be my tour guides instead.
But no matter how much or how little we see and do, I know we’ll have a great time. And as for all the places we don’t get around to visiting, well, that just means we’ll have to take another trip someday. ![]()
